DCM 2 Fall Passion Project

This fall, you will create a self-designed graphic design project that is inspired by or connected to a passion of yours and educates your audience about that topic.

One component must be print-based and one component must be photographic based.

  • For the print piece: You can make a series of trading cards, or a mini magazine, a large format poster, or an infographic or…. ???? Size and format is up to you, but must be approved by an instructor.
  • For the photographic piece: You can do a series of still imagery, video capture or a combination of the two. Time is up to you, but it must be long enough to educate your viewer about your topic.
  • You will need to write a proposal, create a research brief, in addition to thumbs for the print versions and a storyboard for the motion piece prior to beginning to build the finished pieces.

The final project will be due in early December (exact due date to be determined at a later date). There will be deadlines for each section through out the fall.

Note: if you qualify*, you may use this project to earn CCV Dual Enrollment/Fast Forward GD2 college credit (and possibly DIM and/or Digi Photo, depending on how you structure your project).

*All CCV DE/FF college course participation depends on 90% performance in program, meeting the cut off for the Accuplacer assessment and teacher recommendation. CCV GD2 additionally requires that you have earned DCM 1 portfolio certification. See instructor if you are unsure whether you meet all the requirements.
