- In Illustrator: Make 12 artboards using 8 sequential letters* from the alphabet (you don’t need to start with “A”) using a theme of your choice. Must have a unified theme and design. The remaining 4 artboards will be: front cover, blank page, about page, back cover. * If you want to have more letters, you must add letters in multiples of 4.
Format: 4.75″ x 4.75″ pages with .125″ bleeds. Artboard order: Front cover, blank page, 8 letters, about page, back cover. Make sure to package your AI file.
Imagery: You MAY use Google images or Thinkstock. BUT, they do need to be properly sized for print (300 ppi) AND you MUST complete an imageography. Imagery must support theme. You MUST mask some of the images in Photoshop.
Typography: Must include the letter, a title, and some kind of description (could be a poem, a definition, a description etc, it’s up to you, but you must be consistent across the theme. Use hierarchy to create a dynamic page layout.
Color: Choose a color palette (based on the color wheel) and build custom swatches in AI. Create elements that utilize the custom color palette and help tie the design together across pages.
